In this way, the Agreement on South-South Cooperation signed between the two countries last october begins to be put in practice.
Exchanges in agriculture, academic management and formulation of projects were some of the possibilities that relieved officials of the Argentine Foreign Ministry who moved during the week of 8 to 13 June, along with his Belizean counterpart.
During the mission, officials from both countries toured the facilities of "Central Farm". This institution operates under the Ministry of Agriculture of Belize and is dedicated to agricultural research. There they saw the latest developments in Belize to adapt the horticulture and livestock to its tropical climate, as well as to add value to its agricultural production.
A visit to the Cooperation Division at the Belize Ministry of Foreign Affairs led to talks about possible mutual cooperation to assist the current Belizean strategy of developing the capacities of its local staff in formulating, monitoring and evaluating technical cooperation projects.
Finally, at the University of Belize, various alternatives were analyzed to support the task of its new President, who seeks inter alia to strengthen the areas of curriculum management and students.
This visit will contribute to strengthening South-South cooperation between Argentina and Belize, and it will certainly allow the development of new projects funded by the Argentine Fund for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (FO.AR) of the Argentine Foreign Ministry.
South-South Cooperation, through exchange of Argentine and Belizean experts was the main topic of this visit.
