Placencia, July 17
The film "The Games Maker" ("El inventor de juegos", 2014) of Juan Pablo Buscarini took part in the competition of the X Belize International Film Festival (BIFF), which was held in the city of Placencia (Belice) from the 17th to the 19th July this year, with the presence of 35 films from many different regions and countries, such as Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
Based on the novel of Argentina wrtiter Pablo de Santis, the film tells the story of the Drago family, traditional games makers, and their conflict with Morodian, an ancient collaborator, turned into a villain.
It is not the first time that our country competes in BIFF with national films or coproductions with other countries. In 2009, BIFF presented "Andres does'nt want to take siesta", of Daniel Bustamante, the foolowing year came with "My mother's sins" , and in 2013 the film "Deshora".
The Games Maker was selected among four other Argentine films presented to the competition in the Festival.
