Thre Argentine officials of the SMEs Secretariat (SEPyME) went on a mission to Belize this week to elaborate jointly with officials of that country a project to improve the extension given to Small and Medium Entreprises (SMEs) in Belice.
Experts from BELTRAIDE, the Belizean agency in charge of SME advisory explained their Argentine counterparts the different mechanisms that Belize has to promote this sector, which is key to generate employment.
Moreover, the Argentine experts got to know different small entreprises, such as "Hot Mamas Belize", dedicated to hot sauce and marmelade production; "Bel-Car", involved in grain storage and processing, and Moho Chocolate, among others.
They were also present in advisory sessions given by the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC), a division of BELTRAIDE that gives this kind of help to SMEs.
Both parties identified different possibilities of cooperation to support BELTRAIDE activities in sectors such as cacao, honey and coconut processing, as well as strengthening of small businesses.
